Hi friends,
I have an update, and for once, it does not come with a new program, a launch, a perfectly thought-out plan, or even a particularly good answer to the question I know I'm going to get asked.
What's next?
I have absolutely no idea.
And strangely enough, I'm becoming okay with that.
After a lot of thinking, I've decided to end the current Dandelion-Inc monthly membership at the end of September.
Notice I said current.
Dandelion-Inc isn't going away, but this version of it is.
Over the years, Dandelion-Inc has grown, shifted, pivoted, expanded, contracted, tried things that worked beautifully, tried things that absolutely did not, and somehow continued to become something I never could have completely planned when I started it.
Which, when you think about it, is pretty appropriate for something named after a dandelion.
Dandelions don't exactly follow a strategic plan.
The wind blows, the seeds move, some land exactly where you expect them to, and others end up somewhere completely different and somehow take root there.
I think that's where I am right now.
I'm keeping the parts of Dandelion-Inc that I still love and believe in—the connections, conversations, introductions, opportunities, community, and the idea that sometimes one person knowing the right person can change everything.
I'm letting go of the structure that doesn't fit anymore.
And I'm resisting every instinct I have to immediately build another structure around it.
Because I don't want to create the next thing simply because I'm uncomfortable not having a next thing.
The Seed is changing too
If you listen to The Seed, that's changing as well, but it's not disappearing.
I'm giving myself permission to stop treating it like a traditional podcast that needs a schedule, format, and constant stream of episodes.
So yes, I am taking a break releasing weekly episodes to see where I want The Seed to go.
And then there's this email list
This is where I really want to say thank you.
Some of you have been opening these emails for years.
You've watched Dandelion-Inc change. You've watched me change. You've read my thoughts, my business ideas, my lessons, my mistakes, my stories, my occasional rants, my promotions, and probably more emails about whatever I was working on at the moment than you ever asked for.
And somehow, you didn't unsubscribe.
Seriously, thank you.
Because I know how easy it is to hit that little button when your inbox is already overflowing, and the fact that you've allowed me to keep showing up in there means more than you probably realize.
I also don't know exactly what these emails will look like moving forward.
There may be fewer of them.
They may become more personal.
They may be about something I'm writing, something I'm thinking about, someone I think you should know, something happening with Dandelion-Inc, or whatever seed happens to be floating around in my brain that day.
What I don't want to do anymore is send something simply because my marketing calendar says it's Tuesday and apparently Tuesday means I owe the internet a newsletter.
I want to communicate when I actually have something worth communicating.
So what IS next?
Still no clue.
I know Women Rising on October 2 will be a pretty incredible way to celebrate the end of this chapter.
I know the current monthly membership is ending.
I know Dandelion-Inc isn't.
And I know I'm not.
Everything is just allowed to look different now.
I've spent a lot of years believing resilience meant continuing to push, figure things out, pivot, work harder, and find another way.
I'm learning that resilience can also mean adapting.
Sometimes you don't need to keep forcing something to grow in the same spot. Sometimes you let the wind pick up the seeds and see where they land.
So that's what I'm doing.
I'm keeping what works, letting go of what doesn't, taking better care of myself and my life, and giving myself permission not to immediately know what I'm building next.
Maybe I'll know in a month.
Maybe six months.
Maybe something completely unexpected will happen.
For now, I'm going to let myself not know.
And if you've been here for this journey—whether you've been here for years or you somehow ended up on this email list three weeks ago—thank you.
Thank you for reading.
Thank you for supporting Dandelion-Inc.
Thank you for listening to The Seed. If you are a subscriber you will see the final episodes pop up throughout this month, in fairness to those who took time to sit with me. And in all honesty, they are great conversations with some phenomenal women.
I can't even promise you when the next email is coming.
The wind is blowing a little bit around here.
I'm going to see where the seeds land.
Lisa
P.S. If you're thinking, "Lisa, after that entire email you seriously still can't tell us what's next?"—correct. You've been paying attention.
